Writing Connexions

Adventures with Words

What People Are Saying

“I was initially reluctant to write a book about my own life as I am not only dyslexic but also suffered from dysgraphia when I was young. Not that I knew what either word meant in those days and admit I needed Google to check the spelling of both disorders just now. But I need not have been worried because Rob didn’t treat me as an incompetent illiterate imbecile and guided me through the writing process with calm constructive criticism, especially when it came to my over-use of alliteration and the Cardinal sin of using the word ‘that’, which is a no-no in his book and as I soon discovered … also in mine.

Rob encouraged me to write from the heart and had my back every step of the way until I reached the end and then allowed me to continue my ramblings when he realised ‘that’ we were actually only half way through. His tolerance was stoical and his support endless. I would not have attempted to write such an up-close and personal memoir without Rob’s non-judgemental and sympathetic understanding and encouragement. I will be forever grateful to him.”
